  • Accept All: Enable all cookies for full functionality
  • Necessary Only: Use only essential cookies (some features may be limited)
  • Customize: Choose which cookie categories to enable

5.2 Browser Settings

You can control cookies through your browser settings:

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
  • Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies

Warning: Blocking necessary cookies will prevent you from using the Service.

5.3 Clear Your Data

To delete stored data:

  1. Go to Settings in FileDone
  2. Click "Clear All Local Data"
  3. Or clear your browser's cookies and local storage manually

6. Local Storage vs Cookies

FileDone primarily uses Local Storage instead of traditional cookies for storing your data. The key differences:

Local Storage:

  • Stored only in your browser, never sent to our servers
  • Larger storage capacity (up to 10MB)
  • Data persists until you clear it
  • Better for offline functionality

Under UK law, Local Storage is treated similarly to cookies and requires the same consent mechanisms.

7. Impact of Disabling Cookies

If you disable functional cookies/storage:

  • ✅ You can still sign in
  • ❌ Companies you add will not be saved
  • ❌ Notes and reminders will not persist
  • ❌ Compliance tracking will not work properly
  • ❌ You'll need to re-enter data each session

8. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in technology or legal requirements. Check the "Last updated" date at the top. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you through the Service or via email.
